Pentecost – I believe in the Holy Spirit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Creeds are such great reminders for us of our core beliefs as followers of Christ. With today being Pentecost, I thought it would be a great opportunity to remind myself what I believe about the Holy Spirit, who was sent by the Father to teach us, to comfort us, to help us in our weakness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe in God the Father<\/a>, Creator of Heaven and Earth…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe in Jesus Christ<\/a>, His only begotten Son…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I believe in the Holy Ghost the Lord, and Giver of Life,
\nwho proceedeth from the Father [and the Son];
\nwho with the Father and the Son together
\nis worshipped and glorified;
\nwho spoke by the Prophets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coming of the Holy Spirit When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. ~ Acts 2:1-4 ESV<\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. The Nicene Creed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I believe in one God,
\nthe Father Almighty,
\nmaker of heaven and earth,

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
\nthe only begotten Son of God,
\nbegotten of his Father before all worlds,
